1.8. Resources to teach
A innovative professional must always stay up to date with the latest advances in their field. The latest developments in this discipline are not necessarily found in traditional books. We must use publications from indexed journals with worldwide circulation as a primary source of up-to-date knowledge.
For this reason, we rely on institutional subscriptions to specialized databases such as IEEE Xplore, Scopus, Web of Science and other professional societies relevant to each field of engineering. It is recommended that faculty use this material to discuss in class the trends, innovations and cutting-edge developments in all areas of the specialty.
Laboratory infrastructure must also be updated according to the technological progress specific to each discipline, and this implies constant renovations to ensure that students develop practical competencies aligned with current professional standards.
The physical resources regarding laboratories for each course are detailed in Chapter 10.
